Two more men have been charged with firearms offences after reports a gun was fired near a bar in Derby city centre.

Officers were called to the rear of the R Lounge in Becket Well Lane at about 02:30 BST on 26 April.

Derbyshire Police said on Tuesday that Haroon Ahmed, 37, of Arnold Street, Derby, and Gary Anwar, 37, of Border Crescent, Alvaston, had been charged conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Kylan Kelly-Basi, 20, of Park Road, Mickleover, appeared at the same court on Saturday charged with intent to endanger life, and conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Derby Crown Court on 29 May.

Licence suspended

A 46-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were both previously arrested in connection with the incident.

The man has been bailed and police said he had been recalled to prison in relation to another matter.

The woman has been bailed with conditions, the force added.

Detectives previously said no-one was injured, but a scene was put in place while investigations took place.

The R Lounge, which has its entrance in Victoria Street, had its licence suspended after an expedited hearing at Derby City Council on Friday.

It will remain closed until at least 27 May, when a full hearing to discuss its future will take place.

Update 5 May 2026: Derbyshire Police previously said Haroon Ahmed had also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life but the force has since clarified this is not the case. The story has been updated to reflect this.
