Filling station plan for former car dealership
LDRSPlans have been submitted for a 24-hour filling station and shop on one of Bradford's busiest roads.
The former Mercedes Benz dealership on Thornton Road closed in 2024, with permission secured from Bradford Council for the building to be demolished.
Applicants EG on the Move said it would make way for a 477 sq m (5,133 sq ft) kiosk, with the development set to create 20 jobs.
The company, which owns and operates forecourts across England, aims to create 28 parking spaces and 10 pump spaces, with the application due to be considered in July.
The application states it would be the "only petrol filling station directly off Thornton Road" and would "support retail and employment" in the area, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
"Vehicular access to the site is off Brownroyd Street and a pedestrian access is to be provided off Thornton Road," it adds.
Referring to the development's green credentials, the application says it would include four electric vehicle charging spaces, solar panels on the roof of the building and "significant landscaping enhancements".
