Driver dies in crash near Coupar Angus

A 46-year-old man has died after his car was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Perth and Kinross.

The crash happened at about 15:10 on Monday on the A923, south east of Coupar Angus and involved a white Suzuki SX4 Aeria and a black Audi TT.

The driver of the Suzuki, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene and there were no other injuries.

The road was closed for a number of hours while police investigated the collision.

There were no other reported injuries.

Sgt Steven Livesey said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this difficult time and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

"We're appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or may have dashcam footage of significance, to please get in touch."
