The owners of a former Jersey restaurant have lodged an application to turn it into a new seaside cafe.

The Nude Dunes site at La Pulente closed as a restaurant unexpectedly in November 2023 after just a few months of operation but, since then, a number of plans have been submitted for its use, which have been refused.

The current owners now want permission to turn the site into a cafe alongside two self-catering units.

In the submitted application, it said they would like to find ways to bring the building back into use.

In December, a planning enforcement appeal was dismissed after people were seen using the former restaurant as a residential unit, according to officials, falling outside the authorised use of the building.

At the time, it was subsequently reclassified as a site for commercial use, meaning it could be used as a shop, offices or a medical practice going forward.
