Police said the cyclist was found injured near a cinema in Derby Road

A busy route in Nottingham city centre has reopened after being closed when a cyclist was found injured.

Police said the cyclist was taken to hospital after being found near the Savoy cinema in Derby Road, Lenton, earlier.

The road was closed in both directions and a cordon put in place while investigation work was carried out.

No further information on the cyclist's condition has been shared.

Update 19 May 2026: Nottinghamshire Police originally stated the cyclist had been involved in a crash with an ambulance but later said subsequent inquiries had established this was not the case. The story has been updated to reflect this.
