Two sisters have made signs to remind people to pick up dog poo, saying they want somewhere nice to play and run.

Six-year-old Daisy and eight-year-old Flora, from Clevedon in North Somerset, said they came across a large amount of dog poo at the entrance to Court Woods, where they go to play and walk their own dog.

They then drew signs to remind people to clean up after their dogs.

"At a time when a lot of children are on their screens, it's important to have these places where they can go and be outside," said their mum Aimee. "Think of the children, when you leave your dog's mess."

Daisy and Flora said they were proud of their achievement

Clevedon Poo Patrol, a group made up of volunteers, has since cleaned 30 dog poos in the woods and thanked the girls for their signs.

A spokesperson for the group said: "Sadly it's the same people that don't pick up the poo, most dog owners, walkers are actually responsible.

"We love what the girls have done, hoping to get a few more signs made up."

Aimee said her daughters had learned they can make a difference by taking action.

"I think they're really proud of themselves, and we're proud of them," Aimee added.

"We feel proud," Flora added.
