A suspect has been charged with wounding with intent after a man was stabbed in the stomach at a pub beer garden in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Police said the victim, who is in his 30s, suffered serious injuries in the attack at The Manvers Arms in Radcliffe-on-Trent at about 17:30 BST on Sunday.

Graham Butterworth, of Queens Road in Radcliffe-on-Trent, has also been charged possession of a knife in a public place, the force added.

The 48-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear before magistrates later.

Det Insp Ian Smith, from the force, described the attack as a "very serious assault that has left the victim in hospital with severe injuries".

He thanked the local community for their assistance with the investigation.
