Investigation after man's body found in woodland

Detectives are investigating the "unexplained" death of a man found dead in a Sheffield woodland.

Officers were called to Ecclesall Woods at 18:46 BST on Wednesday by the ambulance service, following reports of a man's body being discovered.

An area of the woodland, near the junction of Abbey Lane and Whirlowdale Road, has been cordoned off, with officers expected to remain at the scene throughout Thursday.

A spokesperson said the man's death was "currently being treated as unexplained" and formal identification was still to take place.
