Police name man killed in two-car crash on country road

Police have named a man who died in a two-car crash near Dornock in the south of Scotland.

John Alexander Carruthers, 51, from the Annan area, was driving a grey Mini when it was involved in a collision with a black Range Rover.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened on the B721 between Annan and Gretna, at about 09:45 last Thursday.

The driver of the Range Rover, a 62-year-old woman, was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with "non-serious injuries".

Anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
