Fire crews tackle blaze at large derelict house

Crews were called to the property at about 22:55 BST on Sunday evening

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a large derelict house.

The Essex Fire Service was called to the property on Third Avenue in Harlow, Essex, at about 22:55 BST on Sunday.

Thirty-five firefighters attended the scene, with crews from Harlow, Grays, Chelmsford, Coggeshall, Manningtree and Witham responding along with two crews from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire was extinguished by 01:30 and two crews remained at the scene overnight to manage hotspots. A fire investigation is expected to take place on Monday.
