A man suffered "potentially life-threatening" injuries when he and another were stabbed outside the Library of Birmingham.

The man in his 20s was taken to hospital earlier along with a second victim, who has injuries to his hand.

West Midlands Police confirmed an investigation was under way and urged witnesses to get in touch.

A cordon was erected in Centenary Square, with police guarding the scene.
