Teenager charged after police officers injured in hit-and-run

An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with attempted murder and road traffic offences in Hamilton.

The incident happened at about 09:30 on Tuesday when two police officers approached and spoke to the occupants of a car on Fleming Way. The car drove off and was involved in a collision with a stationary vehicle.

Two officers and a 22-year-old male passenger were injured during the incident and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver left the scene but was traced and arrested. He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court later.
