A number of Nairn town centre streets have reopened after a small sinkhole caused emergency closures.

Nairn High Street, Gordon Street and The Brae were shut earlier this week before they were reopened on Wednesday morning.

Highland Council said BT contractors were fixing the hole, which had appeared at the corner of Douglas Street and Nairn High Street.

The local authority said repairs could mean additional traffic management measures and possible temporary road closures.

Highland Council said its roads team would provide local updates.

A spokesperson thanked residents and businesses for their patience.
