A third man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man in a shooting seven years ago.

Hemewand Ali Hussain was found dead in a derelict house on Charterhouse Street, Hartlepool, on 14 September 2019.

Dani Kadiu, 35, of Kilburn Road, London, appeared at Teesside Crown Court via video link. He was further remanded for a plea and trial preparation hearing next month.

Two other men, Armando Marku, 27, and Sajmir Dodoveci, 41, previously denied murder, and are due to face trial in February 2027.

Det Insp Lyndsey Dale from Cleveland Police said: "I hope this development, and the fact that these complex enquiries are and have been continuing apace since 2019, reassures Mr Hussain's family."

The force said it had worked with the National Crime Agency and international partners on the case.
