Police are appealing for dashcam footage after the teenager died at the scene of the crash in Sheep Lane, Woburn

A teenager has died after a car left a road and hit a tree, police have said.

The crash, involving a white Fiat 500, happened on Sheep Lane, in Woburn, Bedfordshire, close to the Flying Fox roundabout, at about 23:00 BST on Sunday.

Police said the car's only occupant, a female in her late teens, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the "extensive lifesaving efforts" of the emergency services.

Detectives have appealed for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to contact them.

Det Con Lotty Lewis, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: "Whilst there are no known witnesses to the collision, there might have been passing vehicles post-collision whose dash cameras captured something, even if the driver and occupants did not notice the vehicle off the road."
