Italian Car Day is one of the biggest events of the year at Brooklands Museum

Classic and modern Italian cars have gone on display at Brooklands Museum as one of its biggest events of the year took place.

Italian Car Day, held on Saturday, featured a wide range of cars and motorbikes from Italian manufacturers including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Fiat and Maserati, alongside brands such as Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Abarth and Ducati.

Visitors were able to watch vehicle demonstrations on the Mercedes Benz World track, as well as ascents of Brooklands' historic Test Hill, which was built in 1909 to develop and test vehicles.

The museum welcomed owners and enthusiasts to the event, which included entertainment, food and trade stalls.

The world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit was built at Brooklands in 1907.

Brooklands was the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, home of Concorde and the site of engineering and technological achievements throughout the 20th Century.
