Huge crowds celebrate Pride event across city

The parade started at Wellington Street, winding past the Marina to the city centre. Andy Train, chairman of Pride in Hull, said: "It's a great opportunity for the community to come together, creating a safe space in a vibrant city that welcomes everyone."

Thousands of people have gathered in Hull to take part in the city's annual Pride event.

The celebration, which is in its 23rd year, included a parade from Wellington Street to the city centre.

Queen Margarita, who hosted Saturday's event, said "we're still fighting for equality" and that it was "increasingly important" that pride events took place.

The theme of this year's event was You're Welcome.
