'Gentle' night jog to be hosted by town's police

A "gentle jog" around a town alongside police officers is being held in an effort to make people feel safer.

The 5km (3.1-mile) run will start outside Bracknell's police station in The Broadway on 3 December from 18:00 GMT and the circular route will end with a 10-minute warm down.

Thames Valley Police officers said they hope it will "allow people who may not feel comfortable jogging in the dark to do so" and to give residents the chance to talk to them about local concerns.

"We are always keen to understand the concerns of the local community so that we can incorporate these into our patrol plans," they added.
