A man has died in hospital days after his van crashed near a village in Aberdeenshire.

Arnas MacKonis, 22, was driving a white Mercedes Sprinter which crashed on the A947 near King Edward at about 05:30 on Monday.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later died on Thursday.

Sgt Sarah Ritchie said an investigation into the crash is ongoing and has urged any witnesses, particular those with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
