Bristol Rovers Football Club has become the first team in the English Football League (EFL) to offer free period products at their stadium.

The club has installed period product dispensers made by DAME, a company which produces organic and sustainable sanitary products, at their Memorial Stadium.

The installation is the latest initiative delivered through their partnership with Her Game Too, which aims to help make football a more inclusive environment.

Mitch Waddon, head of media and engagement, said the initiative was a "small but significant step in making sure that everyone who comes to the Memorial Stadium feels welcome, comfortable and able to enjoy their matchday experience."

"Removing some of the uncertainty around access to period products is an important part of that," he continued.

According to the football club, 78.3% of female fans experience some stress or anxiety about not knowing whether period products will be available in stadium bathrooms, while 44.3% said concerns about periods or period products have affected their enjoyment of the match.

By making free period products readily available throughout the stadium, the club said it hoped it would remove barriers that can affect female supporters' enjoyment of the match.

Chloe Watts, community relations coordinator for Her Game Too, said: "We're incredibly proud to see Bristol Rovers become the first club to install period product dispensers through the Her Game Too x DAME partnership.

"Access to period products should never be a barrier to enjoying football, and this marks a fantastic step towards making the matchday experience more accessible and inclusive for supporters.

"As a lifelong Bristol Rovers fan, it is especially meaningful to see this initiative come to life at the Memorial Stadium."

Lily Poelmann, B2B sales manager at DAME, said: "It is so amazing to see the dispensers installed in the Bristol Rovers bathrooms, ready to support matchdays.

"It's fantastic to work with stadiums that care about delivering both period equity and sustainability, and we're so proud to be the partner that made it happen."
