Developers consulting on plans for up to 1,750 homes
GoogleHousing developers have launched a consultation on plans to build up to 1,750 homes on land north of Market Harborough.
Hallam Land and William Davis Homes are consulting on proposals to build a housing development on land east of Harborough Road and south of Gallow Field Road, next to Airfield Business Park.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) said developers had detailed plans for a three-form entry primary school, as well as including proposals for land for a secondary school.
According to the consultation website, the developers are intending to submit outline planning applications to Harborough District Council this winter.
The LDRS said consultation documents also included land for sports, allotments, parks, play areas, a dog park and cemetery provision, which the developers said would be refined in response to evidence and the consultation.
"The proposals are also considering opportunities for homes suitable for older people and for self or custom-build housing, subject to need, demand, viability and the planning process," developers stated on the consultation website.
A public consultation event is taking place on 4 November at Wellington Place Primary School in Airfield Road, Market Harborough, between 16:00 and 19:00 GMT, the LDRS added.
A spokesperson for the developers said: "We are inviting residents, businesses and stakeholders to share their views on the emerging proposals before an outline planning application is submitted to Harborough District Council.
"We will be hosting a public consultation event where everyone is welcome to attend and have the opportunity to meet the project team, find out more about our proposals, and share your feedback."
