A man has been charged with making threats towards a Lanarkshire health centre, days after police investigated a suspicious package in the grounds of the building.

Blantyre Health Centre and nearby buildings were evacuated last Thursday while police assessed the item, with neighbouring streets also locked down.

It was eventually confirmed to pose no risk to the public.

A 53-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with threats towards the health centre. He is now expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court at a later date.
