Part of a busy A-road is likely to remain closed into a third day due to a surface defect, causing disruption for drivers.

One lane of the eastbound A14 between junction 57 at Ipswich and junction 58 at Seven Hills has been shut since Monday.

National Highways warned motorists of 20-minute delays and seven miles (11km) of congestion on Tuesday morning, and said specialist contractors had been sent to assess the site.

In an update on social media it confirmed overnight resurfacing work had been planned but, due to high temperatures, the lane closure was "likely to remain in place tomorrow (Wednesday) to allow tarmac to cure".
