Tribute to 'caring and funny' woman hit by taxi

The family of a woman who died after being hit by a taxi have described her as a "loving" and "deeply loved" daughter, sister and aunt.

Isobel Reyland, 26, who was known as Izzy, from South Wales, was struck by a white Toyota Voxy private hire taxi on Aigburth Road in Liverpool at about 17:40 BST on 2 September.

In a tribute, her family said she was a "beautiful, caring, funny and loving young lady" who had been following her dreams in a city she loved.

A 41-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving while under the influence of drugs, has been released under investigation.

Reyland was taken to hospital for treatment but died from her injuries shortly afterwards, Merseyside Police said.

Her family said: "Izzy was a loving and deeply loved daughter, sister, aunty, granddaughter, niece, cousin and sister-in-law who was tragically taken from us far too soon and will be missed beyond words, always.

"She was a beautiful, caring, funny and loving young lady who was following her dreams and her chosen career in a city she loved and living her life to the fullest.

"We are totally devastated and utterly heartbroken as a family at the loss of our darling Izzy.

"Izzy – you will always be with us and our deepest love for you is everlasting."

Officers asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the force.
