Man charged over death of elderly woman

A man has been charged with murder following the death of an 88-year-old woman.

Jill Gant was found dead at a property on Appleford Drive in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, at about 14:20 BST on Thursday.

Thames Valley Police said Daniel Boore, 36 and also of Appleford Drive, was due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The force said specially trained officers continued to support her family and urged anyone with any information to come forward or speak to neighbourhood officers who remain in the area.
