Four deny murder of man stabbed in Leicester
BBCFour men have denied the murder of a 24-year-old man who was stabbed in Leicester.
Arad Niakan died in hospital on 23 July after being stabbed in De Montfort Place, off London Road.
Appearing at Leicester Crown Court on Friday, Said Mahamed, 20, of Sparkenhoe Street, Spinney Hills; Husni Benramadan, 19, of no fixed address; Yousouf Khan, 18, also of no fixed address, and Talha Satar, 21, of Stoughton Street South in Spinney Hills,pleaded not guilty to murder and to possession of a bladed article in a public place.
A fifth defendant, Kassam Tarmahoomed, 21, denied assisting an offender.
The murder accused also denied a charge of possession of a bladed article, and were remanded to custody.
Addressing the defendants, His Honour Judge Timothy Spencer KC said: "You will not come out of your respective prisons until I give permission."
A trial is due to begin on 18 January and expected to last six weeks.
