Firefighters called to tackle field blaze

Firefighters have been called to tackle a blaze in a field in Church Warsop.

The fire in Carter Lane on Monday afternoon has spread to span four hectares (9.88 acres), a spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Nine fire engines were in attendance by 16:00 BST, the spokesperson added.

Carter Lane is closed while crews deal with the blaze, and residents living nearby have been urged to keep their windows and doors closed.
