Wolves legends plead for calm ahead of derby

Wolves legends Jody Craddock and Steve Bull have appealed to fans to behave ahead of and during this weekend's derby with West Brom.

The clubs meet for their first league meeting in five years on Sunday at the Molineux.

In a joint statement earlier this week, the clubs said trouble at an FA Cup meeting between them in 2024 saw 43 people arrested, 12 charged and sentenced and five given permanent club bans.

"Enjoy the game but keep it within the boundaries of the law, we don't need fans running on the pitch, we don't need fighting," Craddock told BBC Radio WM.

He added: "[Fans of each club] probably work together day in day out but the switch is flicked during a derby.

"Just watch it, try to enjoy it, and embrace it for what it is."

Former England football and Wolves player Steve Bull added: "I know [fans] do stupidness before the game.

"They've got to rule that out and go over there and cheer for the team."

Wolves and Albion said supporters could "expect enhanced stewarding, policing, robust ticketing controls and additional safety measures" on Sunday.

Fans have been advised to plan ahead accordingly before setting off to the match.

Following the match, all Albion supporters will be asked to leave via Camp Street, while home supporters will not have access to the area at the rear of the Steve Bull Stand following the game and have been urged to use alternative routes.

"The overwhelming majority of Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters attend this fixture to support their team passionately and responsibly, and we are confident that will once again be the case," the two clubs said.
