Boy riding bike seriously hurt in car crash
Google mapsA boy suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car while riding his bike in Lincolnshire, police said.
The child, who is of primary school age, was struck by a silver Volkswagen Golf at a four-way junction in Haven village, Boston, at about 19:20 BST on Saturday.
Police said he was cycling along Longview Terrace and the car had been driving along Sutton Terrace towards Melbourne Terrace, but the driver did not stop after the collision.
A 27-year-old man from Boston was arrested by police in Norfolk at 20:30 BST on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, causing serious injury, and drug driving.
Lincolnshire Police said he was also arrested on suspicion of driving without a full driving licence and driving while uninsured and remains in police custody.
The boy's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
Anyone who saw the crash, or anyone who might have dashcam footage, is being urged to contact police.
