Man, 74, dies and two women injured in bridge crash

A 74-year-old man has died and two women are in a life-threatening condition after a two-car crash on a west London bridge, police said.

Emergency services were called to Twickenham Bridge at about 14:30 BST.

The Metropolitan Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The two women, aged 82 and 74, who were the driver and passenger of the other car involved, were taken to hospital.

No arrests have been made and police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Twickenham Bridge remains closed while crash investigation work is carried out, police said. A diversion is in place.

Witnesses or those with dashcam footage of the incident are asked to contact the police.
