Arrest after vulnerable man stabbed
GoogleA suspect has been arrested after a vulnerable man was seriously injured in a stabbing on a street in Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire Police said it was called to the scene outside a shop in Radford Road at 12:40 BST on Thursday.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was found with a stab wound and was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in Bulwell on suspicion of wounding with intent and remains in custody.
Det Insp Emma Pollard said: "The victim is a vulnerable man and he has suffered a serious injury in this attack.
"We know a number of people witnessed the assault, and I hope this arrest provides reassurance to them and other local residents who are concerned by what has happened in their community.
"Officers from the neighbourhood policing team will be in the area over the coming days as increased patrols are put in place.
"Despite the arrest, investigations to understand exactly what happened continue, and we'd urge anyone with information or relevant footage to get in touch with police."
