Car hits woman before ploughing into building

Emergency crews were sent to Temple Row in Birmingham city centre at about 16:30 BST

A woman has been struck by a car which then ploughed into a building in a busy city centre.

Emergency crews were called to the Temple Row in central Birmingham at about 16:30 BST, with pictures from the scene showing a large white vehicle wedged into the front of a building and surrounded by debris.

The woman suffered injuries which were not thought to be life-changing, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said.

The driver remained at the scene and had been helping officers with their inquiries, police added.
