Man charged over alleged stabbing in Edinburgh city centre

A man has been taken to hospital and another arrested following a stabbing in Edinburgh city centre.

Police cordoned off a section of Nicolson Street at about 19:20 on Friday evening after reports of an attack involving a bladed weapon.

An eyewitness reported seeing "bloodied tissues" on the ground shortly after the incident took place.

A 23-year-old man has been charged and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
