The Isle of Man's Mountain Road has closed to allow for the removal of the one-way system that was put in place for the duration of the TT races.

The closure will allow for the removal of signage and traffic management measures that have been in place since 22 May.

The road was closed at 09:30 BST and is expected to reopen to two-way traffic no later than 16:30.

The reopening will also see the lifting of a ban on cycling on the stretch of road, which was also in place throughout the festival.

The A18 Mountain Road forms part of the 37.7-mile (60km) TT course and is a popular stretch of road for visiting and local motorcyclists.

The one-way system between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg Ny Baa was first introduced for the centenary of the event in 2007 to reduce the number of head-on crashes seen on the route.
