Nine fire crews tackle blaze at nature reserve

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the nature reserve at 15:48 BST

Nine fire crews tackled a blaze at a nature reserve.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Hampton Nature Reserve, which runs alongside Fletton Parkway, in Peterborough, at about 15:48 BST.

Crews from Dogsthorpe, Yaxley, Stanground, Huntingdon and other stations were at the fire, which spread to grass and trees.

A farmer was also at the scene assisting with a water bowser before the fire service said the incident was under control and being scaled back at 19:30.

Crews responded from stations including March, Chatteris, Gamlingay and St Neots
