A stolen telehandler was used to rip a cash machine from the wall of a petrol station.

Cambridgeshire Police was called to the forecourt's Asda grocery store in Ness Road, Burwell, just before 05:00 BST.

The building was badly damaged in the incident, which happened the day after a telehandler was used to steal a cash machine from the Nationwide building society in Ramsey.

Detectives appealed for anyone with information about either incident to get in touch and said there would be dedicated patrols in response.

Det Insp Jim Donington said: "We understand incidents like this are concerning for local residents, particularly given this is the second ram raid in the county in two days."
