Four arrests after man slashed in street fight

Four men have been arrested after another man sustained a slash wound in a fight in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said it attended Trent Road, in Sneinton, on Thursday just after 18:40 BST following reports of several men fighting.

It said one man sustained a slash wound to his arm and his injuries are not believed to be life-altering.

The force said an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and three men - 20, 20 and 21 - were arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. Police said the men remained in custody.

The 21-year-old and one of the 20-year-olds were additionally arrested on suspicion of affray, police said.

The force said a machete was reportedly brandished during the dispute, at the junction with Bleasby Street, but added no weapon had been seized by police.

Det Ch Insp Claire Gould said: "While we've made four arrests in connection with this incident, we're still trying to establish exactly what happened.

"On that note, we'd ask that anyone who witnessed this incident unfold contacts us to tell us what they saw.

"We'd also like to hear from anyone who has any information they think could assist with our investigation.

"That includes any CCTV, dashcam, phone, or doorbell footage that they may have inadvertently recorded."
