Drivers on the A3 in Surrey have been urged to take extra care as smoke from a wildfire at a nearby farm reduces visibility on the road.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said at 16:00 BST on Saturday it was called to the blaze at Beechwood Farm in Shackleford and 10 of its vehicles were at the scene.

The fire is visible to drivers on both sides of the A3 and people are being told to keep their windows closed when driving past, the fire service said.

Residents living in the area are also urged to keep their windows and doors shut because of the smoke.

The fire service said crews remained on the scene as they worked to bring the blaze under control.
