Grass at a park in Belper went up in flames on Monday

An arson investigation is under way after a patch of grass went up in flames in a park in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Belper and Alfreton were called to the Park Road Recreation Ground in Belper on Monday afternoon.

Fire crews said it was believed the fire was started deliberately.

Derbyshire Police said it had been reported as an arson and urged anyone with information to come forward.
