Doctor accused of sexually assaulting woman
GoogleA doctor has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a woman in Berkshire.
Dr John O'Connell, who runs The Sheffield Clinic in the city's Broomhall area, is accused of committing the offence in Hungerford, Berkshire, in October 2024.
O'Connell, 64, from Sheffield, appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday where he did not enter a formal plea.
He was granted unconditional bail until his next appearance at Reading Crown Court on 17 August.
Paul Schofield, for O'Connell, said in a statement sent to the BBC after the hearing: "My client completely disputes this incorrect allegation and will strongly defend these proceedings, which should never have been brought."
