Murder arrest after man dies and another injured

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 37-year-old man found with stab injuries died inside a property.

Sussex Police said emergency services were called to reports of a fight at Moon's Lodge, in Regency Square, Brighton at about 02:10 BST.

A second man, aged in his 30s, was also found inside with stab injuries and has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply. He remains in custody.

The deceased's next of kin have been informed, said the force.

Ch Supt Adam Hays said: "This incident has had devastating consequences, resulting in the loss of one man's life and leaving another with serious injuries.

"There is not believed to be a wider risk to the public and a thorough investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances."

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage or information to get in touch.
