A "rude and abusive" police officer who threw a body-worn camera towards her colleague has been sacked.

PC Annabelle Shaker was found to have committed gross misconduct by Essex Police.

The force said she was "obstructive, dismissive and, on occasions, verbally abusive", also defying instructions and swerving key meetings.

"The behaviour identified in this case fell far below...standards and was wholly unacceptable," said Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington.

Her behaviour towards colleagues was described as "rude and abusive".

A misconduct panel found she breached multiple standards, including integrity, respect and courtesy, ruling her conduct was discreditable.

Harrington added: "We will not tolerate misconduct of this nature and will take fair but decisive action to hold individuals accountable when they let the force and the public down."
