Election nominations have opened for candidates wanting to stand in Jersey's June election.

Candidates will need to submit a nomination form that shows at least ten people support them standing.

On the form, they will need to declare whether they are standing as a senator in the island-wide contest, or whether they are seeking election to represent a district as a deputy, or a parish as a constable.

Once candidates have filled in the nomination form, they will need to bring it to Morier House, in St Helier, before 17:00 BST on 22 April.

On the nomination form, candidates will need to declare if they are standing as part of a political party.

Before submitting forms, candidates will also need to write 450 words and submit a photo to be featured on the Vote.Je page and in the candidate booklet, so islanders can find out who they are and what they stand for.

Candidates cannot stand for multiple roles.

After a nomination form is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Jersey Electoral Authority, which will send it to the electoral administrator of the constituency that the candidate is standing in.

For senatorial candidates, it will be reviewed by the electoral administrator in the parish where they are resident.

Candidates will be announced on 27 April.
