A woman has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run.

Wiltshire Police said the collision happened at about 02:30 BST on Rodbourne Road in Swindon, Wiltshire, near the Designer Outlet Village.

The woman, a pedestrian, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the driver of the car involved failed to stop at the scene.

A cordon remains in place while investigative work takes place, with drivers warned to expect delays in the area.

Appealing for witnesses, police asked anyone who saw what happened, or who had dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident, to come forward.

Officers are specifically keen to speak to anyone who was in the area between 02:00 and 02:30.
