Voting has opened in a by-election to fill two vacant seats on a local authority in the eastern parish of the Isle of Man.

There are three candidates - James Curtis, James Hewison and Richard Taylor – who are vying to represent the Lonan Ward of Garff Commissioners.

Polling stations at Baldrine Methodist Hall and the Laxey Working Men's Institute will be open until 20:00 BST.

There are a total of nine seats on the board, split into three wards covering Laxey, Lonan and Maughold.

The current election was triggered by the resignations of Tim Kenyon and Stewart Clague in January.
