A man accused of a nightclub bomb threat has appeared at Guernsey Magistrates' Court.

Francesco Biancu, 33, has been charged with bomb hoaxes, an offence under Section 74 of the Terrorism and Crime (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2002.

The charge related to an incident at Folies in St Peter Port on 9 May that led to the club being evacuated.

Biancu appeared before magistrates on Monday morning. He was given conditional bail, ordered not to leave the island and surrendered his passport. His case has been adjourned until 1 June when he is due back at the same court.
