Thousands at park for 'record' city Pride
City of Wolverhampton CouncilThousands of people turned out for what organisers called "the best attended Wolverhampton Pride so far", the council said.
More than 1,000 people entered the parade and over 5,000 continued the celebrations at the event in West Park.
Ahead of the park event, hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter Kaylee Golding, the parade set off from Victoria Street on Saturday afternoon and continued around the city centre.
Council leader Stephen Simkins said this year's Pride had been "fantastic" and it was "wonderful to see the turnout, the energy of the crowds and the spirit of the community, all of which exceeded our expectations".
The day included live performances, community stalls, quiet spaces and family-friendly activities, "all of which helped to create a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike as they came together in celebration and solidarity", the authority said.
It featured Pink tribute act Vicky Jackson, The Ultimate Boy Band Party Show and Bollyqueer's Bollywood workshop along with local artists The Cleopatra Way and Samira Hills.

The West Park celebration was originally due to be a paid event, but the council said it was able to make it free, because of "strong levels of sponsorship".
Simkins said the event was "a reminder that everyone deserves to be safe, valued and celebrated for who they are".
He added that last weekend's event "demonstrated that this is a true Rainbow city".
