Man denies causing teenager's crash death

A man has denied causing the death of a 14-year-old boy in a crash near Keighley.

Ellis Lockley died when the Vauxhall Corsa he was a passenger in crashed on Tarn Lane on 28 April 2024.

Gareth Burns appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and a further offence of causing death by driving while unlicensed.

The 24-year-old, of Yarrow Walk in Coventry, is due to go on trial on 19 April next year.

Other occupants in the Corsa were also injured in the crash.

Following the teenager's death his family paid tribute to their "beautiful boy" and said his death had left "a massive hole in our hearts".

A balloon release, attended by hundreds of people from across Keighley, was subsequently held in memory of Ellis.

Burns was granted conditional bail until his next hearing in November.
