Firefighters still at scene of huge recycling fire
BBCFirefighters remain at the scene on Tuesday morning of a large fire at a recycling yard in Wolverhampton.
The blaze started at about 05:00 BST on Monday at Jones Skips, in Cross Street, and eight fire engines were sent by West Midlands Fire Service.
The fire involved about 1,000 tonnes of recycling materials, and also affected a large building and some machinery in the yard.
Local residents were urged again on Tuesday to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution, the service posted on X at 04:30. Cross Street and St Matthews Street, which were closed on Monday, have reopened, the service said.
