Resurfacing work to start on Rushden road link

Resurfacing works on a road linking two towns, which was closed for improvements earlier this month, will begin next week.

Drainage improvement works have been taking place on Higham Road, which connects Rushden and Higham Ferrers, "with a 24/7 road closure in place".

North Northamptonshire Council said resurfacing works will start at 20:00 BST on Tuesday, with overnight closures in operation until 16 September.

However, the council added there will be no planned road closures over the bank holiday weekend.

Diversions will be put in place and traffic marshals will be on-site to direct pedestrians and road users to their nearest available junction.

Bus stops outside Home Bargains, St Peters Church, ASDA, ASDA petrol station, Factory Shop, and Barwick House will be closed from 20:00 once the overnight works commence.
